Your skin expresses your health. A glowing, flushed skin resembles health and a dull, rough and dry skin means you are not healthy. For a healthy glowing skin, only outer care is not sufficient.
Here are some tips which help to maintain both the inner and outer health for the skin.
1. Drink plenty of water: At least 8 glasses of water should be consumed daily. This moisturizes the skin from inside out.
2. Eat healthy foods: Foods determine the health so don’t ever neglect your feeding habit.
• Add a lot of raw foods to your diet and avoid junk foods.
• Stay away from spicy and greasy foods.
• Cut off soft drinks from your daily routine and replenish with water.
• Eat different fruits of different colors. Choose deep colored fruits.
• Eat a lot of green leafy vegetables and yellow fruits.
3. Cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin daily:
Cleansing: Cleansing removes the accumulated dirt on your skin.
It is the best way to deep cleaning and restoring the essential oils of the skin. It removes all the impurities involving make-up and dirt and oil.
Toning: Toner is used after cleansing. It penetrates the skin and removes the remaining dirt that a cleanser leaves. Toner is best suited for normal and dry skin.
If you have oily skin, opt for astringent rather than toner. The difference between a toner and astringent is that an astringent contains alcohol but a toner does not. Astringent is designed usually for oily skin to fight acne and control oil.
Moisturizing: Moisturize your skin after the use of toner or astringent. Skin needs moisturizing for it to be healthy and glowing.
Not only dry skin but also the oily skin needs to be moisturized. Those with oily skin should opt for oil free moisturizer.
4. Exfoliate: Scrub your face to exfoliate. Scrubbing removes dead skin cells revealing new and healthy skin to give a healthier glow. Use gentle scrubs for daily use and get soft, glowing and blemish free skin.
5. Use sunscreen: Make sunscreen your best friend. Apply sunscreen 30 minutes prior to stepping on the sun. Take a bottle of sunscreen always with you so you could reapply it after every 3 hours.
If you are taking a sun bath or swimming, then use the water resistant sunscreen.

Use sunscreens having SPF more than 20. While applying sunscreen, do not rub it on the skin rather dab it and make sure the layer is not so thin. A thick layer of sunscreen should be applied to get the best result and maximum protection.
6. Nutrition for beautiful skin: The use of cosmetics only make you outward beauty, but if you pay some attention to the food you consume, your skin reveals a healthy glow and you will be beautiful from inside out.
Vitamin A: Also known as retinol is useful in improving vision and for healthy hair and skin. It also helps in regeneration. Dark green leafy vegetables and yellow fruits like spinach, broccoli, mango, turnip etc. are the sources of Vitamin A.
Vitamin C: Acts as antioxidant. Antioxidant helps to fight the free radicals which are the main reasons for aging. It also provides protection against the harmful rays of sun. Vitamin C can be obtained from the citrus fruits, rose hips, Indian gooseberry, broccoli, papaya, green chili pepper, guava etc.
Vitamin E: It is a fat soluble antioxidant that reduces the production of reactive oxygen during oxidation. It is good for skin and hair. It can be applied outwardly as well as taken orally. It can be obtained through wheat germ oil, tomato products, avocado, nuts and nut oils, mango, rock fish, papaya etc.
